Blessed Litha

Okay, so I am a little all over the place today. I'm working on cleaning things out and creating some new printables. I just started on one called "Things I scan", I'll blabber on more about it, when I have completed it but I didn't want today to pass without me saying...

If my spelling is all over the place, it's because my monkey mind today is not only all over the place but is also tired.

Ex Libris

Okay so I had just stubbled upon Shelfari through blog hoping and even though I have a goodreads account I found their widget for blogs to be too cool. So I wanted one!! Even better! Shelfari allows me to identify not only books I own but which ones are being borrowed! This inspired me to want to organize my library, which made me revisit wanting bookplates for my books. Well I told myself I wasn't in any mood to reinvent the wheel and to just google "printable bookplates" and pick some to use. That didn't happen, well it did and I found some great bookplates but then I got to thinking.. if I keep them simple I could make my own bookplates according to subjects or genre's of my collection! So I give you the bookplate for my "Crazy Cat Lady" section.

This bookplate not only makes the statement that "this is my book" but also "you better return it if you know what's good for you!"

In the event that I get lazy.. yeah (stop laughing)... so when I start getting less enthusiastic about this project, I figured it would be a great idea to include a few links to some of the bookplate sites that I liked.

If I ever want to pay for my bookplates.. er I mean professionally done plates;

The title of the page should say it all. Bookplate Bonanza is a list of sites that has printable bookplates.

This site I really like, it is a collection of printable bookplates, arranged by size.

Below I have included my "Own" book shelf. That's right I own these books! And no, I'm not going to loan them out to just anybody, I have to organize and give them their bookplates but now you know why I totally had to make a Shelfari account.

Organizing Journals

Oh pinterest, how much time I waste on you... Oh well.. you have inspired me to try work in my journals and to organize them. Also, must work on smashbook.

Okay, yup, my journals...

Constructively Destructive: Is my "Wreck This Journal" journal. I decided to leave my original Wreck This Journal in fairly good condition and instead alter a book to be my wrecking journal. As much as I love this idea, it does not work so well when if I can't find my original "Wreck This Journal".

Friendship Journal: This one I share with two other people and at the moment I am not sure of it's currant location, it's either in Missouri or Southern California right now.

Friendship Journal Sociology: Yeah.. this one has been on the back burner and is currently MIA...

Personal Journal: Well um.. it's my personal journal. I think I might have some 2012 pages but I haven't used this one in almost a year.

Stories For..: Is a alter book that is a work in progress.

These were also in my journal folder. The start of my heart collection for my heart jar..

My Kinetic Cardboard Sculpture

So the last project of the semester in sculpture is to make a kinetic sculpture with the use of a toy. The project is this, make a sculpture out of cardboard that is able to move using a toy.  While most of my classmates have gone with using a race car, I have chosen a more unconventional toy, the Tumbling Tigger.

Original Form

And because you can go on youtube and watch as many videos that you want of this guy in action, I will not bore you with those videos. Instead lets be entertained by the creepiness of a skinned Tigger dancing.

So yup, that is what a skinned Tigger looks like (and dances like). Also I kept the skin, I'm thinking about turning it into a mini tiger skinned rug.
